Early Book Review: A Season for Sin by Vicky Dreiling

A Season for Sin by Vicky Dreiling is a prequel to a new Sinful Scoundrels series. It is scheduled for release on September 4 2012. The very short story begins the tale of The Earl of Bellingham, a stubborn creature of habit with very few emotional attachments, and Laura Davenport, a widow desperately trying to raise her teenage stepson. Bell is becoming lonely as his friends fall in love and start families, and starts to find himself forced to change his ways. Laura is hoping to prevent her stepson, Justin, from following the path of alcohol and gambling but also fears the interference of his legal guardian, who could take him from her at any time.

I was disappointed in  A Season for Sin, only because it was only three chapters long. It was not a novella, as the initial description led me to believe. Instead is is a prequel which ends just as the story really gets underway. It is a good start to whay might be a well told story but without seeing the story as a whole I cannot honestly say. I will admit that I am interested to see where the story goes, but I would much rather have a short but complete story, than a teaser with no resolutions.
