The Wide Awake Princess by E.D. Baker is a charming book for children, around nine and older. The story is that of Sleeping Beauty’s younger sister who goes on a quest to wake everyone from the magical sleep. Annie is immune to magic, and the curse that puts her family and kingdom to sleep. She goes out on her own to find her sister’s true love that will be able to break the spell.
