The Strange Case of Origami Yoda by Tom Angleberger is a great book for tween readers. The story follows a group of sixth graders on the fringes of popularity. They are not outcasts but are not among the popular kids either. Then there is Dwight, who really is an outcast but still part of their circle. Dwight is strange, but has a talent with origami. One day he comes to school with an origami Yoda finger puppet of his own design. Yoda gives his sage advice to anyone that asks, while Dwight still seems clueless to his peers. Is Yoda magic or simply a hoax by Dwight to get attention? That is the mystery Tommy wants to solve. The book looks like his notebook with entries and comments from various characters in the story.
